Horses In Training Employment Opportunity

There are many wonderful horses here at Braeburn Farm.  Each one is unique and treated as an individual.  Cindy and Eliza wanted to write a little bit about each horse that they have in training.

Cindy's Horses in Training:

ONNO - 1996 Dutch Warmblood gelding by Ferro, 17.1 hh, very dark bay

Onno is owned by Cindy Sydnor and came to Braeburn Farm in December of 2003.  He was imported from Holland by Belinda Nairn as a young horse and owned by Ann Villani until her untimely death in December of 2003.  Cindy has shown him through PSG, and he will be shown at I-1 in 2007.  He is a very sensitive, willing horse who shows a lot of talent for everything that is asked of him.  Cindy is continuing to work on improvement in the acceptance of contact and is also introducing piaffe and passage.

Stilson - 1980 Thoroughbred Gelding, 16.3 hh, bay

Stilson is owned by Cindy Sydnor and has been here at Braeburn Farm for 21 years.  He is a wonderful, generous horse who is enjoying retirement now.  He still works lightly, teaching riders to be sensitive and quiet, and is happy and sound.  Cindy showed Stilson very successfully through I-1 and then allowed Eliza to learn from him for many years.  He is a very sensitive horse with the best work ethic in the world.

Windsor - 2001 Hanoverian gelding by Wuemmestern out of a TB mare, owned by Cindy and Eliza Sydnor.

"Spiffy" is the baby that Cindy & Eliza bought from old friends Tony and Judy Seaber from Hillsborough, NC, as a yearling.  He is all grown up now and has turned into such a nice young horse!  Cindy showed him through 1st level in 2006 with scores in the high 60's.  He is being prepared for the FEI 6 year old test in 2007.  Cindy is working on introducing the flying changes and improving his lateral work.

Fresca - 2001 Hanoverian mare by Wuemmestern out of Gilda (by Gesandt.)  16.3 hands, chestnut.

Fresca was bred and is owned by Honey Locust Farm in Chapel Hill, NC.  She has just come into training with Cindy and will stay here until she is sold.  Cindy is really enjoying working with her.  She has three beautiful gaits, an extremely friendly, outgoing disposition.  She has a lot of natural talent but really needs work on the basics to improve her concept of contact and the suppleness through her body.  She will also do a lot of hill work this spring to try to improve her overall muscling.  Cindy plans to show her this spring at First Level.  She is offered for sale.

Eliza's Horses in Training:

Graffini Grace - 2000 Hanoverian mare by Graf Genius out of Extra Ordinary (by Espri), 16.3 hh, chestnut

Gracie is owned by Cindy and Eliza.  She is a wonderful young mare bred by Honey Locust Farm.  Gracie is an Elite Mare Candidate now, having receive the 3rd highest score in the US in 2005.  She is schooling 3rd and 4th level now and will be shown in 2007.  She was selected as a 6 year old demo for the Young Horse Dressage Trainers Symposium at Hilltop Farm last November.  She has also been selected as a 6 year old demo horse for the Hanoverian Society's Young Horse Symposium at the end of January in FL.  Eliza is working on introducing the tempi changes and canter pirouettes and continuing to improve her overall suppleness.

Lancer - 1993 Dutch Warmblood Gelding by Edelmann out of Edorette (by Saluut), 17 hh, bay

Lancer is owned by Eliza Sydnor.  He was bred by Ellen Perry and bought by Eliza in May of 1998.  He has been shown through I-1 and is working at most everything from the Grand Prix.  Lancer is everything to me.  He is an amazing horse, and I am so lucky to have him.  He is very talented and sensitive, but naturally his personality is a bit timid.  So from the beginning, I have tried to get him to come out of his shell and be more confident and expressive and show himself off.  He is now very confident and fairly opinionated at times!  I am now working on creating an I-1 freestyle for him and introducing the 1-tempi changes.

Slo Blazing Brook (Brookie) - 1985 Quarter Horse gelding, 14.3 hh, chestnut

Brookie has been owned by Eliza Sydnor since she was 6.  He was the best "pony" a child could ever have because he is the most trustworthy horse in the world and yet he is super smart and sensitive.  He was shown through 3rd level and schooled through PSG.  He is enjoying retirement now and occasionally gives pony rides to very lucky kids.

Prince Hopeful - 2002 Hanoverian gelding by Prince Optimus out of For Hope (by Wuemmestern), 17 hands, chestnut.

"Pappie" is owned by The Hopeful Group, LLC, and has been at Braeburn Farm since Thanksgiving of 2005.  He is a very talented young horse that we are all excited about.  He has three lovely, balanced gaits, a wonderfully elastic body, and most of all a super disposition.  He is coming along very quickly in his training, and I keep having to tell myself to give him a day off because he is so fun to ride!  He has been selected as a 4 year old demo horse for the Hanoverian Society's Young Horse symposium in January.  He will be competed in the FEI 5 year old tests in 2007.

Wilmington - 2001 Hanoverian stallion (Waikiki/Fabriano), 16.2 hh, dark bay, owned by Lucile Broadley.

"Wilmy" is a very exciting young stallion who was imported to the US in February when Eliza started riding him.  He is not only beautiful and extremely talented, he also has the most wonderfully sweet disposition and loves to work.  He and Eliza have had two great shows this spring, with scores between 68% and 79%.  Wilmy is already standing at stud and has bred quite a few mares this spring.  Click here for more pictures and information on Wilmington.

Roseblume - 2001 Hanoverian Mare by Rotspon out of Dorfblume (by Davignon.)  16.1 hands, black.

"Rosie" is owned by Dr. Laurie Weiser from Pittsboro, NC.  Rosie is a gorgeous young mare with super bloodlines and outstanding conformation.  Eliza is working on improving her overall suppleness, straightness and balance.  She is a beautiful mover with a darling personality.  She is being prepared for the FEI 6 year old tests in 2007.
Ruby Red - 2002 Hanoverian Mare by Rotspon out of Novelle (by Nebelwerfer.)  15.2 hands, chestnut.

Ruby was bred and is owned by Honey Locust Farm.  She was started under saddle last year by Julie and is fabulous to ride.  She has three wonderful gaits and is very forward thinking.  She is working at Training and First level and is for sale.
White Pearl - 2003 Hanoverian mare by Wildcard out of Good Pearl (by Graf Genius.)  17 hands, chestnut.

"Reba" was bred and is owned by Honey Locust Farm.  She is being started under saddle currently and is for sale.
This mare is outstanding in every way.  She has incredible movement and the best disposition.  She has been very easy to work with from day one and is a true FEI dressage prospect.  This mare is not to miss!
Paloma Blanca - 2002 Oldeburg mare by Art Deco.  16.3 hands, gray and white tobiano pinto.

Paloma is owned by Tara Laughter of Mebane, NC.  Paloma came into training with Eliza in December.  She is a gorgeous young mare with three beautiful gaits and a very sweet personality.  Eliza is working on improving her concept of contact and teaching her to go in self carriage at the trot and canter.  She is also learning to lunge.  She is currently for sale, and she will be competed next spring if she is not sold.
Wonderful Lady - 2003 Hanoverian Mare by Waltzertraum out of Velton's Velvet (by Velton III/World Cup.)  16 hands, chestnut.

"Lady" is a very exciting young horse that has just been started under saddle.  She has outstanding movement and a very sweet disposition.  She is very sensitive to ride and super smart.  Eliza has taken it very slowly with her because of this, but she is going really well now.  She has lovely, light movement and super natural balance in all three gaits.  This mare is for sale and should not be missed.  Click here to learn more about her.
